I nomi di Pinocchio in romeno

Abstract
This article explores the translation of proper names in three Romanian editions of Pinocchio, highlighting the different strategies used by translators and illustrating the degree of deviation from the source text. The paper includes a comprehensive study of the full range of proper names in Collodi’s novel, comparing the different solutions adopted by the Romanian translators. The implications inherent in the translatability of certain onomastic types such as fictional anthroponyms and fictional locations are also examined, relating them to the Romanian stylistic repertoire
