Aims and scope
The journal “Die Bodenkultur: Journal of Land Management, Food and Environment” is an interdisciplinary forum dedicated to all aspects of research in the rural area. The aim is to provide an international outlet for new results in all disciplines of land management, food, environment and related sciences.
It is jointly published by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES).
The journal publishes in an open access model since 2016.
A long history
It was first published under the name “Die Bodenkultur” in 1947, when it was established a joint publication organ from BOKU Universtiy and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Predecessor journals of it published by BOKU were “Mitteilungen der landwirtschaftlichen Lehrkanzeln der Hochschule für Bodenkultur“ (form 1913-1918) and „Fortschritte der Landwirtschaft : Zeitschrift und Zentralblatt für die gesamte Landwirtschaft“ (from 1926 to 1933). The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry published from 1933-1938 the journal “Die Landeskultur : österreichische landwirtschaftliche Monatshefte für den Versuchs-, Schul- und Förderungsdienst”.
