Abstract

This article examines the translation of La luz de la Noche into French and Romanian, two closely related Romance languages that nevertheless differ in their approaches to free verse, dramatic orality, and biographical resonance. Through a comparative analysis of selected passages in which Cervantes expresses weariness and despair, the study underscores the challenges of translating fictionalized autobiography within the context of dramatic poetry.
