Abstract

Abstrakt:

Ensuring diving safety is of vital importance due to the composition of the breathing medium, including heliox intended for short-term and saturation diving. For the measurement result obtained using adequate methods, the measurement uncertainty should be determined each time and compared to the tolerance of the analyzed process/product. Once this condition is met, each of the standardized components of the breathing mixture can be used for diving. The paper describes the process of calibration of the gas chromatograph TCD detector for the determination of oxygen in heliox using the external standard method and linear regression. In the course of the research, the stability of the calibration of the thermal conductivity detector was verified over time. The study does not take into account the methods of elimination of gross and systematic errors. It was assumed that the measurement process is under statistical control, hence the confidence intervals were estimated only for random errors. The paper presents a simplified method of estimating the size of the random error associated with the determination of oxygen concentration in a control heliox sample. The research was carried out at the Underwater Works Technology Department at the Mechanical and Electrical Faculty (KTPP AMW) for the purposes of securing DGKN – 120 and the implementation of the design task.
