Abstract
The material presents the assumptions and derivation of a mathematical model for intermittent ventilation of the decompression chamber atmosphere during airborne hyperbaric exposure with the participation of divers. The proposed mathematical model is based on the balance of the molar mass of carbon dioxide in the chamber atmosphere during the non-ventilated state and during the implementation of the respiratory medium exchange during ventilation. The model was developed in the course of the implementation of a research project carried out at the Underwater Works Technology Department of the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia. It was subjected to experimental verification with the use of a decompression chamber and computer simulations. The results of these experiments will be the subject of further publications.
