Abstract

The article describes the technical and technological conditions for performing underwater works with the use of a wet diving bell in the Polish Navy. The author was guided by the aim of presenting the practical side of the issue in the light of legal regulations applicable to diving for military purposes in Poland. The components that make up the complete system, its various configurations, emphasizing the ease of use and solutions facilitating the transport of the device are described. The article emphasizes both the strengths and the sensitive sides of the wet bell system, which were noted during several years of operation in the conditions of the Baltic Sea. The experience gained was used to develop non-formalized procedures for the safe operation of a wet bell and is the basis for expanding the operational use of such a device.
