Lucia Palšová, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia

Prof. JUDr. Lucia Palšová, PhD., is a distinguished academic at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, specializing in agrarian and environmental law. She currently serves as the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization at the university. Her research and teaching activities primarily focuses on agro-environmental soil protection and the legal aspects of ownership and usage of agricultural land. She has been actively involved in activities of the Union Mondiale des Agraristes Universitaires (UMAU), an international organization dedicated to advancing academic and professional discussions in agrarian law. Additionally, she has been involved in the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence "EU Land Policy – the Pathway Towards Sustainable Europe," which promotes research and education on sustainable land policies within the European Union. Anna Bandlerová, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia

Prof. JUDr. Anna Bandlerová, PhD., is a prominent figure in agrarian and environmental law at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. She has served as a Vice-Rector of the university and a Dean of the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development. In her research, Professor Bandlerová focuses on land policy and management. She has coordinated and participated in several national and international research and educational projects, including those under the Jean Monnet programme such as the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence "EU Land Policy – the Pathway Towards Sustainable Europe," which promotes research and education on sustainable land policies within the European Union. She is also an active member of the Union Mondiale des Agraristes Universitaires (UMAU), an international organization dedicated to advancing academic and professional discussions in agrarian law. Eleonóra Marišová, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia

Professor JUDr. Eleonóra Marišová, PhD., is a prominent academic at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, specializing in agrarian, environmental and public administration law. She has served as the Vice-Rector for University Development, focusing on strategic projects and a Vice-Dean at the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development. In addition to her administrative duties, Professor Marišová is the deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific journal EU Agrarian Law. Her involvement ensures the dissemination of high-quality research in agrarian law including EU and Slovak waste legislation benefiting both scholars and practitioners. Her research interests include EU and administrative law, with a focus on land policy and management. Monika Kvitkovská, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia

Dr. Monika Kvitkovská is a lecturer and researcher at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. She serves as a technical editor for the scientific journal EU Agrarian Law, published by the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development. In her academic role, Dr. Kvitkovská focuses on self-government administration and rural development, contributing to the advancement of sustainable practices in these areas. Mariagrazia Alabrese, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Italy

Dr. Mariagrazia Alabrese is an Associate Professor of Agricultural, Food, and Agri-environmental Law – Dirpolis Institute, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa. Her primary research interests focus on the international legal framework governing agri-food trade and its impacts on climate change, as well as environmental and social sustainability. She serves as Secretary General of the World Union of Agricultural Law Professors (UMAU) and is the Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU Actions for Sustainable Farming and Food Systems – SUSTAIN. Additionally, she coordinates the PhD Programme in Human Rights, Global Politics, and Sustainability: Legal and Philosophical Perspectives. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of Leeds, the University of Cambridge, and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, the University of London. She has also lectured at Université Toulouse 1 Capitole, Faculté de droit (France), and the University of São Paulo, Faculty of Law at Ribeirão Preto (Brazil).

Hasrat Arjjumend, The Grassroots Institute, Canada

Dr. Hasrat Arjjumend is the Founder President & CEO of The Grassroots Institute (Canada). He is involved with the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026) as Co-Chair, RISG – Central Asia & Mongolia, and as Member, RISG Europe. He attended Mitacs Elevate Postdoctorate at Université de Montréal Faculté de Droit, Québec (Canada) in Agrarian Law, after his PhD in International Biodiversity Governance. His research on agrarian laws of biofertilizers and biopesticides in India, Canada, Ukraine and EU received high citations. Currently, he is actively working on the rangeland policies and laws in Eastern Europe and Asian countries. Simultaneously, he is exploring the intricacies of land resources governance in Aboriginal territories of Canada. Using land and governance laws, he liberated about 30,000 hectares of pasturelands (commons) from clutches of local land grabbers, and he nurtured 1017 community collectives (institutions) in West India. Additionally, Dr. Arjjumend is a publisher and Executive (Chief) Editor of Grassroots Journals.

Roman Budzinowski, Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań, Poland

Prof. Dr. Hab. Roman Budzinowski is a distinguished full professor of agricultural law at Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań and has been the Head of the Department of Agricultural Law since 1999. He served as Vice-Dean (1993–1999) and Dean (2012–2020) of the Faculty of Law and Administration. As President of the Polish Association of Agricultural Lawyers since 2014, Prof. Budzinowski is a leader in the field. He founded and serves as the scientific editor of the Agricultural Law Review Journal – Przegląd Prawa Rolnego (since 2007). Additionally, he was a member/judge of the Polish State Tribunal (2019–2023). A prolific academic organizer, he co-led major events like the 15th World Congress of Agricultural Law (2018) and the 30th European Congress of Agricultural Law (2019), both held in Poznań. Currently, prof. Budzinowski is based in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Law.

María José Cazorla González, University of Almería, Spain

Dr. María José Cazorla González obtained a Law Degree from the University of Almería (UAL) in 1994. Doctor in Law from the UAL in 1997. Professor of Civil Law. She has been Deputy Director of the International Doctoral School of the UAL and Secretary of the Department of Private Law. Currently, she is a member of the postgraduate advisory committee and the academic committee of the doctoral program in Business, Economics, and Law, Coordinator and professor of the official master's degree in Management of agri-food activity, and an active member of the UMAU. She participates in European research and knowledge transfer projects under the European Commission Justice program and cooperation projects between European institutions.

Milan Damohorský, Charles University, Czech Republic

Prof. JUDr. Milan Damohorský, DrSc. was the head of the Department of Environmental Law from the beginning of 2003 to the end of September 2022. Between the years 2000 and 2022, he was the Vice-Dean for Foreign Affairs of the Faculty of Law, at Charles University in Prague. He is the chairman of the Czech Society for Environmental Law (since 2000), and is a member of the World Commission on Environmental Law of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (WCEL IUCN) and the European Environmental Law Forum (EELF). He was a member of the European Council for Environmental Law. Recently, he has been active in the Academy of Environmental Law of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (AEL IUCN). He is the author of more than four hundred publications - textbooks, monographs and chapters in them, reports, articles, and professional communications. He has given guest lectures and lectures at several universities in the Czech Republic and abroad (Linz, Nancy, Vienna, Wrocław, Bratislava, Zurich, etc.). For more than twenty-five years, he has been teaching Environmental Law and Natural Resources Law courses also in English, within the Erasmus and LLM programs at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. In addition to environmental law, he teaches agricultural, land, construction, mining, energy, and natural resources law in Czech.

Pierre-Marcel Desjardins, Université de Moncton, Canada

Dr. Pierre-Marcel Desjardins has received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the Université de Moncton. He has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been teaching economics at the Université de Moncton since 1990. He has given lectures on rural development, environmental economics, and transportation economics at the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development of the Slovak University of Agriculture, Nitra, Slovakia, Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Joensuu, Finland and l’ Université Cergy-Pontoise, Cergy-Pontoise, France. His current research projects focus on regional and rural economic development, public policy, language, and economics, as well as trade. He has been called upon by the governments of Canada and New Brunswick, as well as the United Nations and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as an economic development specialist. He has recently prepared studies on the maple sugar sector and the optimal use of forest land. Dr. Desjardins was a member of the Board of Directors of UNI Financial Cooperation from 2008 to 2024 and its President from 2012 to 2024. He sits on the board of directors of the Conseil Économique du Nouveau-Brunswick as an economic advisor. From 2021 to 2023, he was the Treasurer of le Réseau international des Chaires Senghor de la Francophonie. He was also Chair of the Atlantic Premiers’ Panel on the Impact of the Changes to EI and was a member of the New Brunswick Task Force on Pensions. He was also the Chair of the board of directors of the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité (RDÉE-Canada) from 2021 to 2023.

Éva Happ, Széchenyi István University, Hungary

Dr. habil. Eva Happ, PhD. specializes in economics, tourism marketing, and event management, with a robust record in agrarian law and sustainable tourism. As an Associate Professor at Széchenyi István University, she has held roles such as Vice Dean for International Affairs and Head of the Tourism Department. Dr. Happ earned her PhD summa cum laude from the University of West Hungary, focusing on economics and management sciences. Her academic contributions include establishing international networks such as the Amber Road Central European Network of Faculties of Economics and spearheading projects like "Tourism Management in the Visegrad Region Master Course." A Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Central Connecticut State University, Dr. Happ has an extensive international teaching and research portfolio. Her accolades include the Rector’s Award and the Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Hospitality, Tourism Marketing, and Management. Dr. Happ is a prolific researcher in sustainable event management, consumer behavior in MICE tourism, and digitalization in hospitality.

James Ming Chen, Michigan State University, USA

Prof. James Ming Chen is a Professor of Law at the Michigan State University College of Law and holds the Justin Smith Morrill Chair in Law. In more than three decades of full-time law teaching, he has covered a wide range of subjects: administrative law, agricultural law, antitrust, constitutional law, consumer law, and household finance, climate change law and policy, criminal law, disaster law and policy, environmental economics, environmental law, food and drug law, industrial policy, intellectual property (agricultural biotechnology), introduction to the regulatory state, legislation, natural resources law, regulated industries, remedies, and state and local taxation. He has held tenured appointments at the law schools of the University of Louisville (dean) and the University of Minnesota (associate dean; chaired professor). He has also held visiting appointments at foreign universities in Nantes and Angers (France), Düsseldorf (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Nitra (Slovakia), Verona (Italy), and Zagreb (Croatia). Professor Chen's current research focus emphasizes computational social science, particularly the application of supervised and unsupervised machine learning to questions in economics, finance, and empirical legal studies. He continues to write about administrative law and regulatory policy, particularly as these subjects pertain to agriculture and natural resources, environmental protection, and regulated industries. In addition to graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University Law School, he holds two degrees from Emory University and a master of science degree in data science from Northwestern University. He is a member of the American Law Institute and has served as a public member and a senior fellow of the Administrative Conference of the United States. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Radek Jurčík, Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic

Doc. JUDr. Ing. Radek Jurčík, Ph.D. obtained his Law Degree in 2000 at the Faculty of Law of the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, and a PhD in 2002 at the same university. In 2022 he got MBA and LLM. Currently, he holds a position as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Law and Humanities, Faculty of Business Economics, Mendel University in Brno where he teaches courses in Environmental Law, Public Procurement and Public-Private Partnerships, Fundamentals of Law, Law, Commercial Law, Financial Law, Substantive Administrative Law, Economic Land Use, and Public Administration. He works as a supervisor and examiner at the Institute of Public Administration, including specialization in environmental protection. He has been involved in numerous international scientific projects including cooperation with the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic. He is the author of scientific and professional publications. He lectured at several foreign universities, including those in Joensuu (Finland), Cork (Ireland), Athens (Greece), and Savoyard (France). He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the journals From Knowledge to Wisdom and WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics. Doc. Jurčík is also a member of the Public Procurement Network, a member of the Infrastructure Development Association, and a member of the legislative commission of the Association of Towns and Municipalities. He also works as an expert in methodological and training activities for the Czech National Bank and the Supreme Audit Office in the area of public investment.

Jorge Freddy Milian Gómez, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium

Dr. Jorge Freddy Milian Gómez is a legal scholar with an academic and professional trajectory in Agrarian Law, Food Law, and sustainability governance. He holds a PhD of Laws from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a PhD in Legal Sciences from Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas. Currently, he is Associated Researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB); he serves within the Faculty of Law and Criminology and lectures at the Brussels Diplomatic Academy. His research is rooted in agrarian legal frameworks and their intersections with sustainability, food systems, and international law. Dr. Milian Gómez has been involved in multiple international research projects that address agrarian and food law issues. As a researcher on the European Commission-funded “Strengthening Policies for Food Security in Cuba” project, he worked closely with the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture. His interdisciplinary approach is also evident in his contributions to the FAO’s Food and Nutrition Information, Communication and Education Network for Latin America and the Caribbean. Dr. Milian Gómez’s academic contributions include numerous publications on the constitutionalisation of the right to food, sustainable contract farming, and the legal aspects of agroecological resilience. Dr. Milian Gómez is a member of the World Union of Agricultural Law and has delivered lectures on agrarian law principles and the human right to food across Europe and Latin America.

Roland Norer, University of Lucerne, Switzerland

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Roland Norer studied law at the University of Vienna. In 2005 he obtained habilitation at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna. He is authorised to teach administrative law with a special emphasis on agricultural law. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, University of Vienna, Johannes Kepler University Linz, and Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences (Bavaria). In 2007, he was appointed the Chair of Public Law and Rural Law at the University of Lucerne (Switzerland). He was awarded an honorary doctorate (Dr. honoris causa) at the University of Miskolc (Hungary). Between 1994-2008 he was involved with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment, and Water Management, most recently as a Deputy Head of Department in the Legal Section. Prof. Norer is also a general delegate of the Comité Européen de Droit Rural (C.E.D.R.) and the President of the Austrian Society for Agricultural and Environmental Law. He is the author of numerous publications in agricultural, environmental, and administrative law. In particular, comprehensive descriptions of agricultural law in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.

Maroš Pavlovič, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia

Mgr. Maroš Pavlovič, PhD., LL.M is an expert in agrarian law and environmental legislation, currently working as a vice-dean at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. His career focuses on supporting sustainable solutions in the areas of administration, land law, and agrarian law, focusing on innovation and scientific progress. He used the experience gained from legislative and analytical work in the National Council of the Slovak Republic. As the Chairman of the Center for Practical Education of Lawyers, he organizes educational and scientific events for lawyers, law students, and the legal community. In his academic career, he works as an assistant professor at the Department of Administrative and Environmental Law. Here, he focuses on lecturing and research in the areas of land law and environmental issues. His publications include works such as “Public Interest and Land Use” and “Public Administration and Land Law”, which emphasize the need for legislation for effective management of land use and environmental protection. He is an active participant in several projects funded by the European Commission and other institutions. As an author and project manager, he focuses on legislative developments related to efficient land use. The emphasis of his work is on linking theory and practice and on raising legal awareness, which is key to addressing current challenges in the field of agrarian law.

Zoltán Szira, Budapest Metropolitan University, Hungary

Dr. Zoltán Szira obtained his law degree in 2001 at the József Attila University, Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Szira holds a PhD in Management and Business Administration. He is an Associate Professor specializing in agrarian law and business administration, currently at Budapest Metropolitan University. With over 20 years of academic experience, primarily at Szent István University, he has contributed extensively to research on legal regulations in precision farming, drone technology, and sustainability in agriculture. His scholarly work, published in international journals, addresses the intersection of law, technology, and agriculture, with a focus on EU regulations.

István Temesi, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hungary

Dr. habil. István Temesi, PhD. graduated in public administration and then in law, specializes in public administration and public law, particularly in administrative and agrarian law. Dr. Temesi is an Associate Professor at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, head of the Department of International Regulation and Business Law, which is a unit of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics. During his academic career, Dr. Temesi has been vice dean several times and has had more than a hundred and twenty registered publications as study material and articles in national and foreign journals. He is a peer reviewer of several local and European journals. He is a practicing lawyer, former member and head of the Budapest Capital City’s Election Committee, Secretary of the Committee of Legal and Financial Control of the Regional Association for Waste Management and Environment of Municipalities of North-East Pest and County Nógrád since 2005, and licensed to practice law in Hungary as a member of the Bar Association since 2003.

Flávia Trentini, University of São Paulo, Brazil

Prof. Dr. Flavia Trentini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Private Law and Civil Procedure at the Ribeirão Preto Law School at the University of São Paulo (USP) and at the Master's Program at the same institution. She holds a doctoral degree in law from the University of São Paulo, a post-doctorate at the Scuola Superiore SantAnna di Studi Universitari e Perfectionamento (SSSUP) Pisa-Italy, with a FAPESP scholarship, and a post-doctorate in Business Administration/Economics of Organizations (FEA/USP). She has been working in the area of Private Law, with emphasis on Agro-Environmental Law and Food Law. She carries out research and extension activities mainly related to sustainable rural development.
