Abstract

This Foreword introduces the Advancing Competency-Based Health Professions Education (CBHPE) collection of papers. These articles seek to synthesizing practical guidance for CBHPE implementation at a time when CBHPE is rapidly expanding across the globe. Together, the papers in this series highlight that meaningful CBHPE implementation requires attention to adaptive change, fidelity to core components, relational work among learners and supervisors, responsiveness to local context, and systematic study of implementation processes and outcomes.
