MIFCSheet: An Open-Source Progressive Web Application for Vegetation Inventory Data Collection
Abstract
Vegetation inventories are commonly recorded on paper in the field and digitized later, adding time and introducing transcription errors. This paper presents MIFCSheet, an open-source progressive web application for in-situ forest inventory data collection. The software enables offline data capture, structured field measurements, and automatic data validation, improving efficiency and reducing transcription mistakes. MIFCSheet is designed to be flexible, platform-independent, and easily deployable in diverse forestry and ecological monitoring contexts. The application is stored on a public website hosted by the University of Zaragoza at https://mifcsheet.unizar.es/, and its source code is available in a GitHub repository at https://github.com/CristianICS/MIFCSheet.
