AgroEcoMetrics: A Python Toolkit for Modeling and Visualizing Agricultural Microclimates
Abstract
AgroEcoMetrics is an open-source Python package for loading, transforming, and modeling agricultural microclimate data. This package includes tools for processing time-series weather data, modeling air and soil temperatures, estimating evapotranspiration and photoperiods, and calculating and visualizing growing degree days and rainfall runoff. The package integrates with existing research pipelines in agricultural science and supports both empirical and mechanistic modeling. It is hosted on GitHub and licensed under the MIT license, with potential applications in other domains, such as pest forecasting or precision agriculture.
