Abstract

This data paper presents a structurally decomposed audio corpus of Sundanese Carita Pantun, focusing on Lakon Raden Cakra performed by Ayi Basajan, a foremost living master of a critically endangered oral tradition in West Java, Indonesia. The corpus follows Carita Pantun’s internal structure: Rajah (Rajah Bubuka and Rajah Pamunah), Kidung Buhun, and Lakon (Patwa, Carita, Lakon-end), supplemented by four kacapi petikan variants, three kawih buhun with bilingual Sundanese–English transcriptions, and kacapi tuning references. High-quality recordings were captured across two sessions in 2023 and 2025. The corpus supports component-level analysis in linguistics, ethnomusicology, performance studies, digital humanities, intangible cultural heritage preservation, creative adaptation, and decolonial and postcolonial studies.
