Abstract
Introduction: The Digital Health Enabling Integrated Care SIG brings together international researchers, health system managers and providers, public entities, private industry, as well as patients, caregivers and communities who are invovled in developing, implementing and/or evaluating digital solutions aimed at enabling integrated care delivery. This workshop will introduce the expansion of the SIG to include Data and Information, advancing the aims of the group to: 1) develop a better understanding of how digital solutions and data support integrated care; 2) share novel and innovative approaches to design, implementation and evaluation; 3) support scale and spread through building international collaborations around to create innovative solutions to common challenges; 4) make inputs to ongoing regional, national and supranational policy processes to further the debate on digital solutions and data for integrated care. This workshop will launch the new Digital Services and Data Enabling Integrated Care.
Background: Rapid transformations occurring in response to COVID-19 has significantly impacted the way digital services and data systems are being used as part of health and care delivery. Particularly evident in this transformation is how information communication technologies can be critical enablers for other pillars of integrated care. This workshop will explore the intersection between digital technologies and digitally enabled services and other pillars asking members to reflect on both current practice and research and how new tools have been used, and the gaps that need to be addressed to continue to benefit from these tools.
Aims/Objectives: This interactive workshop will explore the intersection of digital services and data systems with other pillars of integrated care. Working with our members and through inviting leads from other SIGs, we will establish an updated 3-year strategic plan that builds on knowledge sharing from our last webinar series. The strategic plan will include: 1) a plan for a new cross-cutting webinar series that will explore topics that connect digital health to different integrated care pillars; 2) priority areas for research and practice to help create new collaborative opportunities for members to engage in knowledge sharing and research activities; and 3) priority areas for policy intervention.
Format: This 3-part hybrid session will include a zoom link so members can participate remotely.
Part 1: Setting objectives - 10 minutes
Part 2: Four facilitated breakout groups will discuss digital health and care solutions in research (group 1) and practice (group 2), as well as data application research (group 3) and practice (group 4). Groups will identify 5 areas requiring further exploration/knowledge sharing and which other SIGs should be involved – 25 minutes.
Part 3: Facilitators will report back identified priority areas and potential SIG partners. The group will triage these priorities to establish a webinar schedule – 25 minutes.
Key People from SIG Network Involved: SIG co-leads will be invited to participate. In particular, Marie Curran (leading several groups), and Nick Zonneveld (leading Values of Integrated Care SIG), with whom we have previously connected. Past webinar presenters and other partners we’ve connected with through our activities will be invited to join as well.
