Abstract
Summary: Three projects under the EU Health Programme provide technical assistance to health authorities in transferring, developing capacity and scaling-up integrated care (IC):
-JADECARE Joint Action reinforces the capacity of health authorities to address the transition to digitally-enabled, integrated, person-centred care. Four “Early Adopters” of original Good Practices(GP) support transfer of features into the systems of 21 “Next Adopters”.
-SCIROCCO Exchange supports the readiness and capacity of health and social care authorities for the adoption and scaling-up of IC by developing a Knowledge Management Hub.
-VIGOUR backs health authorities on their systems transformation by means of a context sensitive support programme guiding each authority through staged process of IC ambition focussing, maturity self-assessment and operational implementation planning.
This workshop will facilitate the discussion to analyse the challenges and opportunities of transferring GP on IC in Europe.
Background: Evidence from system-wide IC programmes and projects, highlights the need for methods and tools to build up the capacity of health authorities. This requires a process of strengthening the abilities of individuals, organisations and systems to perform core functions sustainably and to enable continuous improvement and development over time.
Aim/Objectives:
Identify challenges and opportunities for transferring GP, build capacity, scale-up and sustain IC.
Objectives:
-Understand JADECARE, SCIROCCO Exchange and VIGOUR approaches to transfer IC GP in European settings.
-Identify challenges and opportunities in the transfer experiences of participating regions in the projects to ensure optimal results and sustainability.
Target audience: Health authorities, policy and decision makers, health and social care managers and professionals, researchers, academia, patient representatives, and health experts and the staff working on implementation of IC.
Facilitators/speakers:
Esteban de Manuel Keenoy (Kronikgune Institute for Health Services Research) will introduce the workshop and moderate the group discussion.
Jon Txarramendieta (Kronikgune Institute for Health Services Research), Andrea Pavlickova (TEC Scotland) and Lutz Kubitschke (empirica) will introduce JADECARE, SCIROCCO Exchange and VIGOUR respectively.
Christina Plomaritti (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Serena Mingolla (Puglia region) and Ana Maria Carriazo (Regional Ministry of Health and Families of Andalusia) representing one region per project will present their transfer experience in the projects they participate in.
All speakers will participate in a group discussion. The moderator will launch questions to speakers and attendees will be encouraged to contribute to the discussion.
