Premenstrual dysphoric disorder and premenstrual syndrome: an overview

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) affects 3- 8% of women in the reproductive age group, while premenstrual syndrome (PMS) has a prevalence of 20-30%. PMS and PMDD are associated with significant reduction in quality of life and decreased work productivity.
