Blinde Flecken in der Polykrise: Mehr Diversität führt zu einer solideren Wirtschaftspolitik
Abstract
In times of a polycrisis, policy advice needs diverse perspectives to better navigate uncertainty and avoid blind spots. This article shows that women remain significantly underrepresented in German economic policy advisory bodies, especially in permanent and co-opted committees. This is not only an issue of gender equality, but also of advisory quality. Evidence from international and sectoral examples suggests that diversity broadens the range of topics discussed, improves problem-solving, and strengthens policy resilience. Reforming recruitment and appointment procedures is essential to ensure more inclusive and effective economic policy advice.
