Abstract
How can sustainable mobility succeed in Germany? German transport and infrastructure policy is facing major challenges: climate targets, investment backlogs, funding bottlenecks and structural deficits call for a strategic reorientation. The current challenges and opportunities of a sustainable transport and infrastructure policy are examined – from financing instruments such as the special fund to strategic conflicts of objectives of the transport turnaround and specific reform proposals for rail, road and electromobility. The focus is on the question of how efficiency, climate protection and economic viability can be better harmonised in the future.
