
Effect of Utilizing Eggshell Powder and Fine Recycled Aggregate on the Mechanical Properties of Sustainability Concrete

Abstract
This research presents an analysis of the performance of concrete treated with recycled fine aggregates versus eggshell powder. Twelve concrete mixes were created for strength testing using fine recycled material to replace aggregate at levels of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. For each aggregate level, eggshell powder was added at 0%, 5%, and 10% by weight of cement. Tests were conducted to show the fresh and hardened concrete properties. Combining 5% eggshell powder and 10% recycled fine aggregate allows the mix to retain its workability and high compressive strength. A higher ratio of additive to cement leads to increased water absorption and a noticeable reduction in compressive strength. Ultrasonic pulse velocity testing determined the mixes to be rated as “Good”, verifying their suitability for general structural applications and therefore, classified as sustainable green concrete and used as an alternative for environmentally conscious structures.
