Abstract

This study investigates the engineering properties of soil stabilizers containing cement and the TS Mika® VN (TS) additive for road pavement applications in Dak Nong Province, Vietnam. The effects of using 8%, 10%, and 12% ordinary Portland cement combined with 3.75 liters of the TS additive per cubic meter of soil were investigated to evaluate the mechanical properties of the stabilized soil. All specimens were subjected to curing periods of 7, 14, and 28 days. Various engineering tests were conducted, including the determination of Atterberg limits, soil expansion characteristics, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), unconfined compressive strength (UCS), splitting tensile strength, and the elastic modulus of the stabilized soil. The results indicate that incorporating the TS additive with cement significantly enhances soil strength, making the stabilized material suitable for use in subgrade, subbase, and base layers of road construction in compliance with Vietnamese standards. The findings of this study are expected to be beneficial for road construction projects, particularly under conditions of material shortage.
