Alcohol and medication consumption and tobacco smoking in the face of drug use in the young and young adults population as a public health challenge

Alcohol and drug use, smoking and drug use by young people and young adults are becoming a growing problem in many countries, especially since some psychoactive substances are legal and available for sale to adults. Taking two or sometimes even more psychoactive substances at the same time is particularly dangerous for a young person’s health. Effective and age-appropriate education about the effects of harmful psychoactive substances seems to be necessary to maintain physical and mental health until old age.
