Diving with a cochlear implant
Abstract
So far, little work has been published focusing on the impact of diving on the functioning of the cochlear implant system, surgically implanted electronic medical devices intended for people with sensorineural hearing loss. This work presents publications in this field, as well as information obtained from the manufacturers of these devices (MED-EL, Cochlear, Advanced Bionics). The issue of diving safety in users of a cochlear implant system was assessed.
