Abstract

The paper presents the place and role of visionary diagnostics of underwater objects in the field of technical sciences. It is demonstrated that this is a common part of technical diagnostics, underwater engineering photogrammetry, and underwater work technology. The difference between diagnostics and underwater inspection is discussed. Methods of diagnostics and inspection are characterized, and directions for research are also indicated.
