Transport and Telecommunication Journal relies on the expertise and commitment of its reviewers to maintain the quality and integrity of its published content. We sincerely thank all reviewers for their contribution to the scholarly community.

Who can become a reviewer?

We welcome as reviewers researchers and practitioners with demonstrated expertise in transport science, telecommunications, traffic engineering, transport modelling, transport safety, logistics, or related fields. Reviewers are typically expected to hold a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience and to have an active publication record in the relevant area.

Reviewing process

TTJ operates a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are asked to assess manuscripts with respect to the following criteria:

– Originality and novelty of the research;

– Relevance to the scope of the journal;

– Soundness of the research methodology and study design;

– Validity and correctness of results and their interpretation;

– Quality and clarity of presentation, including figures, tables, and references;

– Adequacy and currency of the literature review and citations;

– Compliance with research ethics standards.

Reviewers are invited via the TSI Open Journal System portal (https://ojs.tsi.lv/index.php/ttj) and are asked to complete their evaluation within four weeks of accepting the review invitation. Upon accepting an invitation, reviewers will receive access to the anonymised manuscript.

Reviewer responsibilities and ethics

TTJ follows the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers (https://publicationethics.org/reviewer-guidelines). Reviewers are expected to:

– Decline the invitation if they have a conflict of interest with the authors, their institution, or the submitted work;

– Treat the manuscript as confidential and not share or discuss it with third parties without the permission of the editors;

– Not use unpublished information from a reviewed manuscript for their own research without the explicit written consent of the authors;

– Provide an objective, constructive, and evidence-based assessment, avoiding personal criticism of the authors;

– Alert the editors if they identify any potential ethical issues, such as suspected plagiarism, duplicate submission, or undisclosed conflicts of interest;

– Notify the editors promptly if they are unable to complete the review within the agreed timeframe, so that an alternative reviewer can be identified;

– Not delegate the review to another person without the explicit approval of the editors.

Confidentiality and anonymity

TTJ uses a double-blind review model. Reviewers’ identities are not disclosed to authors at any stage of the process, and reviewers do not have access to author information. All communications between reviewers and the Editorial Board are conducted through the OJS portal and remain confidential.

Use of AI tools in peer review

Reviewers must not upload manuscript content to AI-based tools (e.g. large language models) in a manner that would compromise the confidentiality of the submission. The intellectual responsibility for the review rests solely with the reviewer.

Recognition

The journal annually acknowledges its reviewers by publishing a list of contributing reviewers in the final issue of each volume. Reviewers may also request a certificate of their contribution to TTJ by contacting the Publication Manager at rutkovska.j@tsi.lv. There are no financial remuneration or fee waivers associated with the review service.

Researchers wishing to join the reviewer pool of TTJ are welcome to register in the TSI OJS portal (https://ojs.tsi.lv/index.php/ttj) and indicate their areas of expertise. Alternatively, expressions of interest may be sent directly to the Editorial Board at transport.journal@tsi.lv.
