Aims and scope

The Proceedings of the International Conference on Business Excellence (PICBE) are open-access, single-blind peer-reviewed international conference proceedings dedicated to publishing rigorous and relevant research in the broad fields of business, economics, and management. The International Conference on Business Excellence (ICBE), first organized in 2006, provides an international platform for scholarly exchange, knowledge transfer, and dialogue between academia, business, and policy-making. The proceedings have been published in their current series on the publisher’s platform since 2017 and focus particularly on research addressing evolving conditions for organizational performance, competitiveness, and sustainable business development.

PICBE welcomes theoretical, empirical, methodological, applied, and case-based research that combines academic rigor with relevance to contemporary economic and business challenges. The proceedings encourage interdisciplinary approaches and innovative perspectives across a broad range of areas. Key areas of interest include business and management, economics and macroeconomics, finance and banking, accounting and reporting, entrepreneurship and business models, marketing and customer analytics, human resources and leadership, international business and globalization, artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning, digital transformation and information systems, logistics and supply chains, sustainability and the circular economy, energy and the green transition, agri-food systems, public and economic governance, education and labor markets, social innovation, and sports business.

With an international outlook, PICBE seeks to strengthen the connection between national and international research and business environments and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge across countries, disciplines, and sectors. The proceedings provide a forum for research that examines the challenges, opportunities, and transformations arising from globalization, technological change, economic uncertainty, and evolving models of competitiveness, while fostering collaboration among universities and research institutions, business and consultancy, and policy-making organizations.

Serving a diverse audience of academics, researchers, educators, students, business professionals, consultants, policy makers, and other institutional and societal stakeholders, PICBE aims to support both scholarly advancement and practical relevance. The proceedings are particularly interested in research addressing contemporary transformations in areas such as artificial intelligence and digitalization, innovation and entrepreneurship, sustainable and resilient business models, the energy transition, responsible governance, global economic change, and the development of organizations and markets in increasingly complex and interconnected environments.
