The journal Modelling in Civil and Environmental Engineering, published by the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB), is committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial quality, transparency, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

The journal establishes clear editorial procedures and ethical standards in accordance with internationally recognized guidelines and best practices in academic publishing.

Editorial Standards and Responsibilities

The editorial team ensures that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated fairly, objectively, and solely based on their scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Decisions are made independently of the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, nationality, or political beliefs.

Editors are responsible for maintaining confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for their own research without the authors’ explicit consent.

Peer Review

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

Authors must:

- ensure the accuracy and validity of their research

- properly acknowledge all sources

- avoid plagiarism and self-plagiarism

- disclose any conflicts of interest

- ensure that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the work

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers contribute to the editorial decision-making process and help improve the quality of manuscripts.

Reviewers are expected to:

- provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback

- maintain confidentiality

- decline review in case of a conflict of interest

- not use unpublished material for personal advantage

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The journal is committed to preventing and addressing any form of unethical behavior or publication malpractice, including but not limited to:

- plagiarism

- data falsification or fabrication

- duplicate publication

- unethical research practices

All suspected cases of misconduct are investigated thoroughly, and appropriate actions are taken, including correction or retraction of published content when necessary.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only as a support for language editing and technical assistance during manuscript preparation. AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Any other use of AI tools must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.

The use of AI tools for plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or manipulation of research results is strictly prohibited.
Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including any parts generated or assisted by AI tools, and must ensure the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the work.

The journal reserves the right to take appropriate action in cases of misuse of AI tools.

Research involving human participants must comply with accepted ethical principles, including those outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki:
