Publication history

The Folia Oeconomica Stetinensia (FOS) journal has been published continuously since 1994. Initially, it was published exclusively in print by the University of Szczecin Press. In 2007, the FOS editorial team signed an agreement with the publisher Versita, as a result of which the journal became one of the first Polish journals available online under an open access model. In 2012, Versita was acquired by DeGruyter. The name Versita was changed to DeGruyter Open, and in 2018 to Sciendo. Since 2025, Folia Oeconomica Stetinensia journal has been published in partnership with Paradigm Publishing Services.

In years 2016-2017 the publication of FOS was part-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland within the activities promoting science (Polish abbreviation DUN) under the decision number 860/P-DUN/2016 (amount of granted funds PLN 67,260.00).

In years 2019-2020 the journal was co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland in the framework of the ministerial programme “Support of Scientific Journals” (Polish abbreviation WCN) on the basis of contract no. 387/WCN/2019/1 concluded on 24 April 2019 and being in force until 31 December 2020. The amount of funds representing aid granted under the programme PLN 35,000.00.

In years 2022–2024 the journal was co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland in the framework of the ministerial programme “Development of Scientific Journals” (Polish abbreviation RCN) on the basis of contract no. RCN/SP/0234/2021/1 concluded on 9 December 2022 and being in force until 30 November 2024. The amount of funds representing aid granted under the programme PLN 35,000.00.

Since 2019 Folia Oeconomica Stetinensia has been indexed in the Scopus database and since 2024 the articles published in FOS have been indexed in the Web of Science database.
