Publication history
The journal was founded at the Institute of Landscape Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in 1982. The journal published articles four times a year from 1982 to 2023; since 2024, it has been published twice a year. From its founding until 1989, it was published under the title Ekológia (ČSSR); from 1990 to 1992, Ekológia (ČSFR); and since 1993, Ekológia (Bratislava).
