The Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway (Da-Qin Railway) is a Class-I freight-only national railway line connecting Datong City, Shanxi Province with Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province in China. It is also the first double-track electrified heavy-haul railway and the first dedicated coal transportation line in China. This book, apart from the introduction, consists of a total of six chapters. The first four chapters provide a detailed account of the construction process of the Da-Qin Railway, starting from the selection and decision-making of the railway's construction plan, and in comparison with the heavy-haul railways of major countries around the world, the design of the "more load, faster speed" Chinese heavy-haul model for the Railway. It then covers the completion of the Da-Qin Railway through two phases of construction, forging a path of independent innovation in key railway construction technologies from introduction to domestic production. Furthermore, it discusses how the Da-Qin Railway was transformed and upgraded into the world's heaviest annual volume heavy-haul railway. The final two chapters of the book introduce the operation and management of the Da-Qin Railway and expound on the spirit of the Da-Qin Railway Railway: "striving for excellence with weight, surpassing others with courage."
