Abstract

Pluperfect GRAC (PluG) is a copyright-free downloadable corpus of Ukrainian historical texts derived from the General Regionally Annotated Corpus of Ukrainian (GRAC). It contains 42,000 manually processed texts with a total of 58.1 million tokens, covering the period from 1816 to 1954. The corpus includes fiction, journalistic texts, academic writing, ego-documents, poetry, folklore, religious texts, and other text types. Each document is accompanied by rich metadata describing functional style, genre, orthographic system, date, region, author(s), and publication details. The PluG2 extension adds approximately 15 million tokens of Western Ukrainian texts written in the Zhelekhivka orthographic system. PluG is intended for computational linguistics, natural language processing, and digital humanities research requiring high-quality historical Ukrainian data with structured metadata. The corpus is suitable for training language models, diachronic linguistic analysis, and studies of variation in Ukrainian.
