Should gastrointestinal symptoms be considered a warning sign of anorexia nervosa?
Abstract
Eating disorders are complex in their origin, presentation, and management. Individuals with eating disorders at times tend to hide their symptoms and their defensive secrecy and compulsive behaviours make it difficult to diagnose and treat these disorders. Gastrointestinal symptoms are commonly reported by individuals with eating disorders but may be overlooked by clinicians.
