Abstract

This research study investigates the profound intersection of Buddhist ethics and social responsibility, aiming to shed light on the ways in which Buddhist values and principles contribute to the advancement of community development. The influence of Buddhism on societies and the well-being of individuals is undeniable, yet the specific mechanisms through which Buddhist ethics shape and enhance community development remain relatively unexplored. Drawing upon a multidisciplinary approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods, this research investigates the practical application of Buddhist ethical principles within diverse communities. It examines the roles of Buddhist institutions, organizations, and individuals in fostering social responsibility and sustainable community development. The study considers case studies from various regions, exploring how Buddhist ethics inform and guide initiatives related to education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, environmental conservation, and conflict resolution. The research aims to uncover the tangible contributions of Buddhist values, such as compassion, mindfulness, non-violence, and interdependence, to the promotion of community well-being. It also seeks to identify challenges and obstacles encountered in implementing Buddhist ethics within community development contexts, as well as potential areas for improvement. The findings of this study have significant implications for policymakers, practitioners, and scholars interested in harnessing the potential of Buddhist ethics to address pressing societal issues and promote social responsibility. Ultimately, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between religion, ethics, and community development, offering valuable insights into the role of Buddhist values in shaping a more compassionate and socially responsible world.
