Perahara is one of the prominent thing among the Sinhalese cultural events. Among all the elements related to it, the elephant has a main place. The elegance and spectacularity of each elephant depends on the clothes. Hese clothes, which are beautifully finished with different colors, shapes and beautiful patterns, increase the weight of the elephant and also become the main reason to win the audience's attraction. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to inquire about the techniques and practices related to the creation of elephants clothes. The research problem here is to investigate whether the elephant dress has a cultural value beyond the beauty expected from the clothes. For that, the main source is academic writing and research theses associations of standard scholars. Other than that data is collected through the interviews and questionnaires with secretory of Dalada Maligawa, Kandy, Gajanayaka Nilame, Mr. Jyathissa Ahalamalpe the person who dress up the Mangala atha Elephant dress designers. Even though it is a beast, elephant clothes are a special aspect related to the Sinhala culture, and this shows that the design of the clothes of the elephant is a cultural element based on respect and devote.
