
The Impact of Training and Development on Employee Retention in Clothing Manufacturing Organization in Sri Lanka
Abstract
The importance of human resources in an organization cannot be overstated. Organizations strive to attract the most talented individuals to their organization while also attempting to retain them. Training and Development have been identified as a key factor in the promotion of Employee Retention. This study seeks to evaluate the impact of training and development on the retention of employees within a clothing manufacturing organization. This study utilized a quantitative research approach. 145 factory employees were selected as the sample using Simple random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), which employed both descriptive and inferential statistics, including regression and correlation, to evaluate the data. The results of the study demonstrate a positive relationship between training and development and employee retention.
