
Zur Überwachung der Höhenlage der 0°-Grenze in der Atmosphäre anhand von Radarbeobachtungen

Abstract
The observation of precipitation clouds by means of a RHI-radar set allows the control of the actual height of the freezing level without the use of radiosonde measurements. Warmings and coolings of the lower and middle troposphere layers caused by airmass changes are thereby detected faster than by use of the regular radiosonde ascents, which are often available only twice a day.
