Abstract
A brief description is given of the area in Hawaii where a cooperative study of rain mechanisms in warm clouds was conducted during July and August 1965. The nature of the project and its general objectives are outlined, and local weather and atmospheric structure is characterized in order to provide background information for discussions of specific project results.
