Fake News – leicht zu verbreiten, schwer zu bekämpfen
By: Hanno Beck and Aloys Prinz
Abstract
Fake news are easy to create, spread rapidly across social media, and cause significant economic, social, and political damage. At the same time, combating false information proves difficult: psychological mechanisms, algorithmic amplification effects, and the limits of state intervention hinder effective countermeasures. The fight against disinformation will remain an enduring challenge for democratic societies, and no simple solutions are in sight.
