Aufschwung mit Schwächen: Demografie sowie Struktur- und Finanzprobleme trüben Ausblick
Abstract
The German economy has been recovering since the end of 2025. Following a temporary soft patch in the third quarter, as low water levels and high energy prices weigh on economic activity, the recovery is expected to regain momentum towards the end of 2026. The institutes forecast GDP to grow by 1.3 % in 2026, followed by 1.1 % (2027) and 0.4 % (2028). Compared with the spring forecast, the growth projection has been revised up by 0.7 percentage points for 2026 and by 0.2 percentage points for 2027.
