Cringe oder Cuisine: Wie ein Wettbewerb die Ernährung von Kindern verbessert
Abstract
Many children do not consume the recommended amounts of healthy foods, which impairs their development and long-term health. Pupils from socio-economically disadvantaged households are particularly affected, as their dietary environment is often dominated by processed, energy-rich products. Schools therefore offer an ideal starting point for effective interventions, as they reach all children and enable practical experiences in everyday life. This is where the ‘Cringe oder Cuisine’ project comes in: in a weekly competition, classes prepare healthy side dishes for the canteen, taste them together and evaluate them. In this way, the project strengthens nutritional skills, increases the acceptance of healthy foods and promotes sustainable eating habits.
