Abstract
A deregulation initiative has to scrutinise regulation and authorities. In energy policy, we need more market-orientation and openness to technology in order to reduce transformation costs. The social systems must be aligned to the growth potential through pension reforms and more incentives for employment. The money freed up from ineffective subsidies is needed for education and defence.
