Abstract
In 2019, the Federal Ministry of Finance launched the Federal Forum to discuss key issues related to financial relations between the federal government, states, and local authorities. In 2024, the discussions will be published as a Wirtschaftsdienst “Zeitgespräch“. Participants explore reform options from both German and international perspectives. Topics include decentralisation, cooperation between government levels, international comparisons, and the role of fiscal federalism in economic growth. The contributions will also address issues like property transfer tax, trade tax, and the goal of equal living conditions in Germany.
