Abstract
The healthcare industry comprises a complex system of stakeholders with different interests and needs. For the successful digital transformation of the healthcare industry, it is therefore essential to establish appropriate governance structures that take this complexity into account. To establish these structures, the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation recommends the set-up of a roadmap clearly specifying the goals to be achieved, the milestones to reach and the critical aspects associated with them, as well as the responsible actors involved. Using the example of the Health Data Space – as a central element of the digital transformation of the healthcare industry – the Commission of Experts outlines the basic framework to illustrate the structural principles of roadmapping.
