Abstract
Many people have been concerned with love for centuries, not only the hearts and minds of poets and writers, but also philosophers and scientists. Reflections on love can be found in utopian texts. Authors of utopias put love in different contexts. In general, they try to understand, define, and describe it, and they rely on their personal experiences. Love surely permeates utopias and the people who live in them. The purpose of this article is to confirm the assumption that love permeates utopias and the lives of their inhabitants, who do not ponder over and talk much about love, but simply love. They do not think and do not talk so much about love – they just love it. This articles describes whom and what people of utopias love? In the author’s opinion, utopia as a literary genre was often a romance novel that included love as a moral, legal, religious, and social category.
