Abstract
This article shape aspects regarding contravention liability with the help of the regulations mentioned in Law no. 8/1996 and completed with the Government Ordinance no. 2/2001, that forms the frame of contravention sanctions and the method of punishment. In the field on intellectual property contravention liability is not as known as criminal liability, and because of this, this article wants to emphasize its importance within society of today. In the first part, I focus on main and complementary categories of contraventional sanctions, highlighting the low gravity of the deed that form these categories and the purpose of rehabilitation, even the benefits for community, that some of these conventional sanctions have. In the second part, I point out how sanctions are applied, which persons can enforce this law and how it is possible to reach and confer the effect of social rehabilitation. Finally, I underline the need for contraventional sanctions to be rethought and anchored in today’s reality.
