Abstract

The summarizing article monitors the impact of addition of chemical substances in concrete on corrosion behaviour of galvanized steel in fresh concrete. The impact of both inorganic (chromate and hydrogen peroxide) and organic substances (derivates of imidazole and benzimidazole) is discussed in terms of origin. The study describes their impact on galvanized steel - concrete bond strengths in short periods of the concrete curing. Legislation issues relating to using the substances and their impact on mechanical properties of concrete are discussed.
