Stray current induced corrosion protection - permanent ground anchors - 16 years monitoring

Abstract
The principles of stray current corrosion protection of pre-stressed permanent ground anchors were firstly extensively applied in the middle of 90s in newly built KORADO factory in Česká Třebová. The electrical insulation requirements of the anchors were defined. The suppliers were thoroughly checked and inspection measurements were carried out. Since finalization of the factory, the impact of stray currents has been monitored periodically every 5 years, including check measurements at all 500 ground anchors. The fundamental electrical values are collected by the operator. The paper provides practical experiences with the subject and shows a unique long-term collection of data.
