Abstract

Žigrai F.: Transfer of landscape ecological knowledge from theory to practice as a multistage process. (Selected theoretical and meta-scientific aspects). Ekologia (Bratislava), Vol. 32, No. 3, p. 305-319, 2013. Successful and efficient transfer of landscape ecological knowledge from theory to practice is a complex scientific and social topic, the solution of which requires elaboration of suitable theoretical, meta-scientific and empirical-applied research approaches. In this context, the burning question is, to what extent is landscape ecology as a science with its theoretical basis, methodological infrastructure and quantitative-qualitative nature of empirical knowledge prepared to solve this fundamental problem effectively. The transfer of landscape ecological knowledge from theory to practice should be understood as a multistage process bound to bridge and reduce the distances between the theoretical and practical landscape ecological knowledge on the empirical, methodical, theoretical, meta-scientific, didactic and applied level and simultaneously as a great challenge for landscape ecology.
