Operation and Effects Analysis of the System for Conductor Temperature Remote Monitoring and Real-time Ampacity Forecast on the OHL 110 kV Banja Luka 1 – Banja Luka 6/I After Five Years of Operation

Abstract

This paper presents architecture of dynamic thermal rate (DTR) system installed on OHL 110 kV Banja Luka 1 -Banja Luka 6/I. The paper presents performance of the system, conductor temperatures reached during the past five years period of exploitation as well as meteorological data from meteorological station in correlation to power consumption data of the area of interest. The critical scenarios in transmission line operation were analysed and conclusions were drawn regarding the justification of the DTR system installation against to a transmission line reconstruction.
