Single incisor intrusion with thermoformed aligner and inter-arch elastomeric
By: Scott Derek Currell and Naryan Gandedkar
Abstract
This case report describes a simple method for single tooth intrusion using a modified thermoform aligner and an orthodontic elastic. This technique allows for an aesthetic and monetarily beneficial solution for the patient. The biomechanical advantage of this technique leaves the adjacent dentition unaltered and does not require multiple appliances or attachment, like other clear aligner techniques. In addition, it may be used as an adjunctive in clear aligner therapy.
