Abstract
The cross is part of the collection of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Sibiu. In this article, we wish to highlight the entire process of conservation and restoration of this cross, supported by relevant scientific research. The purpose of this paper is to present the restoration process in all its stages, from documentation and preliminary analysis to the actual interventions and recommendations for preservation and valorization. We aimed to follow ethical and methodological principles in restoration and apply the criteria of reversibility, compatibility, legibility, and minimal intervention. The paper thus highlights both the value of the restored object and the role of the restorer in protecting the national cultural heritage.
