Abstract
The Roman settlement at Ocna Sibiului–Fața Vacilor / La Făgădău is representative for the colonization of Roman Dacia by Celtic populations originating from Noricum or Pannonia. It functioned during the 2nd century, while its possible continuation into the 3rd century remains debated. The local community preserved Celtic cultural elements of the La Tène type, with Romanization occurring mainly within Roman Dacia. Characteristic Roman objects, including terra sigillata, were gradually adopted and integrated into everyday life. The establishment of Norican-Pannonian colonists at Ocna Sibiului–Fața Vacilor / La Făgădău was likely connected to the salt deposits in the Ocna Sibiului area and took place within the broader context of Trajanic colonization in Dacia.
