Abstract

This discussion questions the pedagogical discourse in relation to the function of school as a place of socialisation for learners. Based on the semiolinguistic approach, it examines speech acts within social relations that connect learners, future social actors, to one another and influence their relationship to the world. The main question is to know how, by means of this specific discourse, the academic establishment prepares the integration of women into the various socio-professional groups to which they must successively belong, so as to later answer the question of leadership that the Cameroonian society concerned with equity expects of them. The study thus endeavours to show the extent to which, within academic training, strategies are deployed between the linguistic status of the protagonists created by linguistic expression and their social status in the communication circuit. It then reveals how the androcentric representations arising from the pedagogical discourse negatively influence the positioning of women in real places of power. The reflection leads to the urgent need to take into account “gender” in the choice of materials used in teaching, so that the pedagogical discourse ceases to be at odds with social realities and, above all, with the dominant political discourse, which claims to be egalitarian.
